2. What are the major continents and oceans and seas of the world?

3. What are the common terms used in discussing geography?

Description 

To understand the ways in which the Earth is measured and described, we need to understand some of the basic terminology geographers use. We will be using them throughout this class, so let's get started.

Objectives

The purpose of this assignment is to familiarize students with the basic vocabulary of geography, the five themes of geography, and the identification of major oceans, seas and continents.

Instructions

You will have access to the in-class atlas as well as the world maps linked to this page as you work on this assignment.

The interview portion of this assignment is to be done outside school. Please note that you need to discuss a location more than 300 miles from Rexburg if it is at all possible.

We will be working on this packet for the next week or so. Please do not feel like you have to go home and complete it all at once. That said, you need to use your in-class effectively.
