Description 

Southern Europe has a rich and varied geography. This region has also changed the world in some deep and long lasting ways - probably more than any other region on Earth. For this unit we are going to evaluate the physical geography of southern Europe, but more importantly, we are going to look closely at just how this part of the world has wielded such powerful influence on the rest of mankind.

Objectives

• Students will identify and explain the key featurs of European geography.

• Studens will develop essential understanding of the dominant types of government nations use today.

• Students will be able to evaluate and explain the essential aspects of the impact of Greece and Roman cultures on modern political and religious systems.

• Students will identify and explain a basic understanding of the influence of southern Europe on modern language, technology, and political systems.
